It's not as satisfying or long as Psychonauts -- I played at a leisurely pace and finished in 3 hours. Overall, I went in with moderate expectations and I found it worth it.It has a lot of the same neat ingredients that Psychonauts did, like playing with size differences and mind-bending environments. It's supposed to be played sitting, as much of the time your character is also sitting, but you could get away with standing. Because of those environments, though, I'd recommend sitting. I felt some butterflies in my stomach in some of the scenarios, but the exciting kind, so some may prefer to stand. Sitting also discourages you from straying outside the bounds of the game. I don't mean the steamvr chaperone, I mean the playable game area, which is much smaller. If you do, you get a jarring black screen and a menu message telling you you left the game area. Some limitations are necessary, given that most of the puzzles involve you figuring out how to change your perspective. If you could walk around there would be no point. But it's impossible to resist leaning, twisting, and crouching to try to get a look at the imaginative levels, so this is a common frustration. This is not a seamless port. I think it would have been better to make the warning process more gradual on the PC, using some of Psychonauts' characteristic first-person visual effects.For some reason they also started pronouncing Milla as "Miya" in this game, so if you played the first game, it may be a little jarring.The in-game options and help is lacking (or I missed it while I had my headset off sipping a drink.). Most notably, you highlight items and menus by looking at them, and select with a click of the touchpad (on the Vive). To recenter your view in-game, click the left-hand top menu button (again, on the Vive.). While this does seem like just a non-VR game with HMD camera support slapped on and no other VR features, it's still an enjoyable experience.. I enjoyed Rhombus of Ruin. The characters, voice acting, and story are all awesome. It has many interesting mechanics and compelling puzzles. Not every puzzle feels rewarding, and sometimes the pacing isn't perfect, but as a whole package I highly recommend the game for its style and execution. For the cost of going to the theaters, you get an intriguing interactive VR experience that's about the length of a long movie.. Really nice animations! It's like watching a well done cartoon. Really good music and voice acting.Short at 2.6 hours, for what I paid its about $6.16 per hour, cheaper than a movie ticket for Ready Player One which is about $8.01 per hour.While the controls are simple, it's worth mentioning that you can use abilities simultaniously!. The game is stationary and doesnt let you move. There's no real interaction with hands, only the psychic powers you have. Infact you dont have any hands and the psychic powers controls works poorly in some cases. The tutorial is confusing, almost no graphic options (like turning of AA), AA is killing the immersion and making everything blurry. The game seems to be a game aimed at kids, so not for me. I got this game at 75% discount and I'm still requesting a refund. On the bright side the cartoon graphics should appeal to kids and animations are fairly well done. There's enough to click and play with to keep a kid interested.. Really good game and short. I wish there was more puzzles to use the power. Later on level should get more difficult. Maybe can find secret item that count at achivment. The game feels like a test demo for a full on vrgame. I so want More physchonauts game. Cheezy yet simple game play. Love it. I was able to beat the game in just over an hour. It recomend getting the game on sell to feel satified.. smooth VR experience in the quirky and pretty world of Psychonauts. May be short, but to me, worth it.
